While all animals could be kept as pets, it is not right to keep wild animals at home. Wild animals surely do not like the idea of being kept at home. Their real home is the forest where they could live with other wild animals and live a normal life. Wild animals are better off living in their natural habitat. Surely, a home could never equal the habitat of the wild animals. Even assuming that the wild animals are safer at home and given more attention does not merit one to keep the wild animals at home.
In the past when people have left all the wild animals where they belonged, very few animals had become extinct. Today, as people keep hunting the wild animals and trying to make them pets, more and more animals are now becoming extinct. People should bear in mind that wild animals are not fit to live at home. The wild is where they belong and people should leave them there in order for them to live normal lives.
Here are some animals that shouldn't be kept at home as pets:
1. Monkeys - Monkeys have always been loved pets at home because they resemble man in many ways but they should be left in the forest where they are free to swing in the vines and trees.
2. Tigers and Lions - Tigers and Lions are slowly becoming less and less because they are being hunted as pets and their habitat is being denuded by man. These animals are wild and they should not be kept at home as pets or else we are denying them of their real natural habitat. These big animals need a big place where they are allowed free movement and socialize with other wild animals.
3. Snakes and Crocodiles - Keeping snakes and crocodiles at home, is denying them of the habitat they are used to. These wild animals shouldn't be kept at home because they need their natural habitat where they could live better.
4. Owls and Eagles - These especial kinds of birds need a wide place to fly and freely live normal lives. They are not supposed to be kept in cages where they are denied free movement.
5. Iguanas - Many people love iguanas because of their lovely color and the ease of taking them wherever they go but iguanas need their natural habitat in order to live normal lives.
There are countless wild animals that should not be kept as pets but these are the most common wild animals being kept at home. All these animals need their natural habitat in order to live and reproduce normally. If we take them out of their world, we are slowly killing them. Many animals are now extinct and we don't want to aggravate the situation by keeping these wild animals in a place where they don't belong. Unless you have a forest to keep these wild animals, you should leave these animals where they belong. Let us accept that we can never provide for all the needs of the wild animals if we take care of them at home. There are far better things that these animals need other than what we could provide for them when we keep them as pets.
Animals are like people too. They also have feelings of their own and they need wild animals to socialize with and live normal and better lives. These animals do not need a soft bed, a golden cage or a silver dish. What they need is a natural habitat and the other nature around to keep them happy and alive.
