Writing tips to help articles flow smoothly

One of the best ways to get your articles noticed is to have your work flow smoothly. This will ensure that you work gets read, and that people are going to want to keep reading once they get started reading. Having an article that flows well can be difficult depending on what types of articles that you are trying to write, but here is a basic template you can use to ensure that you have good flowing articles.

The first thing that you need to do is to ensure that you have several different ideas that you want to articulate. Essentially you should have at least 3-4 body paragraphs in an article. This means that each article should have 3-4 separate ideas that are different from each other. Once you have those different ideas, you can mix and match them together to figure out which ones you might want to place after the other.

Another key to good article flow is good transitions from one paragraph to the next. You can't separate your ideas well if you don't have anything to transition from one idea to the next. You should use good transition words, and make sure that you have shown the reader that you are moving on to your next idea, or point that you want to make.

To have a good flow in your article, you should always have one paragraph flow from the previous. For example, if I am talking about baseball, and I was just talking about the Red Sox-Yankees rivalry, I might want to talk about the Cubs-Cardinals rivalry. The transition there is that I am talking about another rivalry, which works well, and I was also able to spice it up by talking about another region of the country, and the National League of baseball as opposed to the American League.

Good flow also means that you have a good voice, and your writing like your talking. Have you ever given a speech, or listened to a speech where the speaker was going all over the place? How did that make you think about the topic, or about the speaker? Did you just stop listening after awhile, or just go to sleep because following the speech was hard? Think about that when you write, and think about how you would feel if you were reading this right now.

A good flowing article is going to have lots of good ideas, but a great organization as well. Make sure you have distinct ideas, yet have those ideas related to each other in a timely and effective manner. If you can do that, you are going to have some great flowing articles, and a great following as a writer.
