I guess when it comes to just about anything there is a good side, and a bad side, to your decision. I don't really think there are any cons to budgeting your money, just mere inconveniences that budgeting causes you. Honestly, there is a much larger upside to having a budget because you can get a greater handle on your money. However, there are some cons to budgeting as well.
The biggest con to budgeting is that you don't really get to spend your money the way that you want to. There isn't really much room for impulse spending in a budget, especially these days. However, if you are savvy, you can put some of your money into an impulse spending category, meaning that you can spend the money and not have to worry about where it goes.
The biggest pro to budgeting your money is that you can get a grip on your financial health. Instead of spending a lot of money that you might not have, you now have the ability to focus on getting your financial picture into focus. Even if you have a lot of money, it can be good to make sure you know where it is going so that you don't wake up one day broke and penniless.
Another pro to budgeting is that you can help yourself in so many areas. When you see how much you spend on stuff you really don't need, you see that you have a huge opportunity to save money. This helps because instead of spending money on going out to dinner, you can spend that money on insurance, or something else that you might need instead.
A small con to budgeting is that you need to watch where your money goes. You can't just spend whatever amount you want because it will just end up wrecking your budgeting. You really need discipline, and you need the willpower to make sure that you have what it takes to make sure that you can keep your money where you want it. This is very important.
Budgeting your money is something that we all have to do in time. We need to know where our money is going, and how we are going to spend it. By knowing where our money goes, we have greater control over it. It might take some willpower, and some discipline, but it can be done.
