There are moments in sports that can be defined as great moments and there have been many. To name just one would be very difficult so instead, it can be about having a few different moments that stand out. Mainly, it could focus on the four major sports in the United States. It would include football, baseball, basketball, and hockey. Everyone is going to have a different opinion on it and honestly who can blame anyone on that. Without further or do, it has to come time to start listing some of the greatest moments in sports history.

When it comes to hockey, the Colorado Avalanche went on to win the Stanley Cup. It would be known as Ray Bourque's last chance to get a Stanley Cup as a player before retiring. Colorado would give him the trophy and would be the perfect symbol of going out on top. For anyone to not think that would be a great moment would be debatable but this is just an opinion, when a person has gone through many different years playing to finally win really means something. Going out on top is a way to finish a career if you look at it from that perspective.

This may seem something but this could be considered shocking with baseball, it could be argued that 2001 was a great moment. It was also an upset nevertheless. It was the Arizona Diamondbacks and the New York Yankees and it looked to be yet another Yankees championship. It was Arizona who would go on to shock Rivera and actually not only tie the game, but would go on to win at the very end. It was the first World Series in November and that was understandable why it happened. It was a big moment because nobody gave Arizona a chance to win and it was all about New York. This could be the symbol of a good underdog story that came to life.

For basketball and this could sound a bit biased but seeing the Cleveland Cavaliers triumphed with "Z" getting to go to the Finals. Hopefully, he can reach that point where he gets a ring. A story with a guy who has had foot problems earlier in his career and it is true he had LeBron James but still that's a great story. When thinking about it from that perspective and seeing stories of a career that looked to be over before it had become and now put together a solid season is truly remarkable and a driven individual to take care of business. It would be nice to have the Cavaliers season go with a title and if "Z" indeed retires, it would be a great way for him to come out on top.

With football, it would be the night of seeing the Super Bowl with coming up one yard short with the Titans and Rams. Why it was a great moment because the Titans were looking to come back from being down. It was a close game to the end and brought in some excitement in the sense of really coming close and a near remarkable comeback. It also would be the story of Kurt Warner getting noticed and it later would get the Arena Football League some notoriety because he played there and he became a Super Bowl champion.

There were many other moments and it will come down to opinion on what they saw and liked the most. Truthfully, it really isn't as easy as you would think in that respect.
