Yes we should end the practice of daylight savings time. Arizona and Hawaii already don't go through the trouble of changing their clocks twice a year. Maybe they are on to something.

The whole point of daylight savings time is for the most part gone. Back when kids helped out on the family farm, there was a reason to change the hours around. By moving time one hour back it gave kids a chance to get their chores done on the farm before school. Fall back one hour in the fall to help with the fall harvest. Spring forward one hour in the spring to help after school with the planting after school. It seems to me instead of changing the time for us that are not effected by farming, they should have had fall and spring hours for the school.

What difference does it make to all of us who are not involved with farming if we go to work when it's dark or come home when it's dark? That is all that would happen if we didn't change the time. And what does it matter to a cow if they get milked at six or seven? I'm sure the cow could care less. When we change the time all we are doing is making things more difficult than they have to be. We have less daylight in the fall and winter and moving our clocks does not create or save us any more time, same in the spring.

I for one would like to see the clocks set once and for all and left that way. So it will appear to be getting dark later in the fall, so what. We would eventually adjust. Just think if we never moved the clocks forward in the spring how many less people would use that as an excuse to be late on that day. In the fall we wouldn't have to sit around waiting for church to start because we showed up an hour early.

In the past daylight savings time may have helped some of us but today it has become a hindrance and an excuse to whine about something twice a year. We already have different time zones let's not make it more complicated than it has to be. Doing away with daylight savings time would make life twice a year a whole lot easier. I for one would not be missing it.
