The Children's Bible in 365 Stories by Mary Batchelor author, is a hardcover book that talks to kids about the Old Testament biblical characters and the basic teachings of Jesus. This book is for a child as young as age 4 up until age 8. Your child could use this book as their little daily meditation or devotional, which I think is great. The book makes a nice gift for that reason.
The Children's Illustrated Bible by Selina Hastings in hardcover is another great gift idea for children in beginning bible study. The book has stories that include biblical people from both the Old and New Testaments. The book includes well known parables and teachings too. This book also includes the story of Jesus Crucifixion.

The Victor Journey Through the Bible Hardcover, is written by V. Gilbert Beers. This book is really great since it contains colorful illustrations in it all bible related times, will keep the kids interested in learning more and more about biblical characters.
Genesis Finding Our Roots by Ruth Beechick author, is in hardcover and takes us back to the beginning times of where it all began in the bible. The writer Dr. Beechick wrote this book thinking that more understanding is needed about the book of Genesis, and so she makes the historical points clear. This book is definitely best for a child that is older, from age 9, 10, and up.
I hope that these suggestions may help give someone ideas of helping a child study and understand the bible in a fun way.
