Reduce illegal immigration by enforcing penalties against companies that hire them

Immigration is a serious problem that is facing America today. It is not the actual people that come over, but it is the sheer number, making our nation even more populated than it needs to be. If the people want to come to America, more power to them, but it is the fact that they do not go through the immigration policy, staying in the country without paying taxes or the government knowing. They come to the land of freedom for the many jobs that out number the employment in their native land. This is causing a problem because we as a country are doing a good enough job overpopulating.

The companies that hire the immigrants are using them as cheap and inexpensive labor, but it is not the fact they are working that is bad. The main problem we have with the illegal immigrants working in America is that is nontaxable income. We as a country lose money as they gain money to send to their families across the border. Though it is for a good reason they do these things, the companies that take advantage of the numerous people are giving them more reasons to come.

We are in an economic crisis right now, but we are still not receiving the much needed money from all of our workers. The non-taxable income that they earn is stealing the food from our mouths, quite literally. The government of the United States needs to make the punishment for using illegal labor a more grueling experience. If one of the companies is caught, they pay the fine, and they hire more illegal workers, this injustice cannot continue on its current course.

The injustice is not to the illegal immigrants that are trying to put food in the mouths of their families, but to the people that have to give their food up to the families of people they don't know. A higher fine may do some good, but as in the former example, they will pay the fine and keep moving. The price for hiring illegal workers should result in jail time, making the owners sit and think about the families they are taking the food from. A picture hanging on the wall of their cell of a poor family, starving to death, would be a good reminder of the agony they are causing the nation.

I don't know about you, but I don't want to have to give up the food I eat everyday for someone I don't know, that is driving in an expensive car and not paying taxes. It is the principal that guides us to have to pay taxes, and even though it is a pain on us as well, the immigrants that are stealing money from our pockets and food from our plates should share in the financial burden as well.
