Blackberries are another berry that carries with it, many nutrients that will benefit your health. A serving of blackberries which I will refer to in the article, is one cup. One cup of blackberries, contains 62 calories, no fat, and 2 grams of protein.
Fiber in a serving of blackberries is excellent since they contain 7.6 grams! Fiber is not o nly good for roughage to keep regularity, but it is also good for helping to prevent certain colon cancer types as well as having a cholesterol lowering effect.
Your potassium in blackberries is 233 millirams in a serving. Potassium is an electrolyte which we must have in order to live. Potassium not only controls the heart beats and fluid levels, but it also essential for muscle energy.
Blackberries contain some of your vitamin A. Vitamin A is an immune system building vitamin, and it also helps cellular health for cancer prevention. In a serving of blackberries you will receive 308 IU of this needed vitamin.
There is 36 micrograms of folate found in blackberries. Fol ate helps to process the amino acid homocystine in the body, and it also is important to cell health in the prevention of anemia. Keep in mind that fol-ate is a water-soluble B vitamin.
Magnesium is 27 milligrams in blackberries, and calcium is found in blackberries at 6 milligrams each serving size. These two nutrients are bone building, especially calcium. Magnesium is not just supportive for the bones, but it also regulates the blood pressure and helps in lowering blood glucose levels. So by eating blackberries, you will get a little bit of each of these vitamins.
These berries are nice and rich in vitamin K too. Vitamin K is the vitamin that helps the blood clot in a proper manner, and it also plays a role in stopping bleeding correctly.
