The best of 2009: Toys

Financial and credit crisis is changing the lives of all people around the world. People earn less and spend less, but, strangely enough, sales in toys have not decreased. Apparently, parents give importance to their children's needs and do not change their spending patterns when it comes to satisfying their children even if the prices of toys increase.

In 2009, numerous toys were introduced in the U.S. market. Action toys, puzzle games, computer games, video games, cars, sporting equipments and many others. Introduced with innovative features and aiming at offering more excitement and fun to the children, the 2009 toys are great for child development.

One of the most popular toys of 2009 is Barbie Doll that has just celebrated its 50th birthday. For this occasion, not only it has introduced Barbie Doll in bathing suits, but the new dolls have a more natural look and are more modernized.

Similarly, Obaman is America's latest and most cherished hero. Obaman is an action figure that represents the President of the United States of America and is equipped with all the necessary gadgets in his mission to eradicate evil and save America for the current crisis.

Karito Kids are girl dolls that trace their origins in New York, Mexico, Australia, Italy, China and Kenya. Each doll comes with a descriptive storybook, a passport and a fancy webpage that allows owners to activate their activation code and enjoy more games, accessories and stories about each doll. Karito Kids is more than just dolls. It is a brilliant way to make children read, play and be involved in community services as 3 percent of the retail price is donated to less fortunate children around the globe.

Play-Doh Spongebob 10th anniversary set is also one of the most popular toys of 2009. Little fans of Spongebob can create their own character using squishy yellow PLAY-DOH compound and many childish parts 'n pieces. Besides, Play-Doh has also introduced the Play-Doh Back Pack with numerous activities that help little children count and recite the alphabet.

50's Diner is another popular toy that really fascinated children in 2009. Including a 54-pieces diner set, 50's diner sets up a kitchen with a counter top, cabinets, fryer, sink and a sliding ice-cream freezer, while on the other side there is a two-chair table for customers to enjoy. However, the best part is the real jukebox that features three great songs of the 50's.

All these toys are designed for enhancing the imagination of the children, boosting their creativity and improve the brain power learning. In reality, toys like these are investment for a child's future development and not just dolls, action figures and favorable pastimes. This perhaps explains why parents keep on spending their money on buying toys for their children although toys are becoming more and more expensive at times when purchasing power is decreasing. The truth of the matter is that all these toys contribute to child development.
