The wireless networks are being use in many more homes than before. The Linksys Wireless Networks, by example, are gaining in popularity and are more used in homes than ever. Unfortunately, hackers and intruders are happy to find new ways of using technologies for their sins. To secure your linksys wireless network there are many simple things your can do.
The Linksys Wireless Networks are made to be easy to install. They usually propose you to create a network password which will be ask to anybody who would like to connect to the network. They are amde for anybody to be able to set up a safe and secure wireless network in about 10 minutes.
You can also use the Linksys EasyLink Advisor. It's a very unique and convenient program that allows you to connect all of your computers to the network without the password while keeping your network safe from intruders. The thing is that you need to install the program on all of the computers you what to allow to your network, by doing this, you will also be able to see what computers are actually connected to the network and manage, from the main compouter, who can connect to the network and who can't, by deleting users or installing new ones.
There are also advanced methods that require more expertise to secure a Linksys Wireless Network. You can use an encryption method to secure your wireless router like WEP, Wired Equivalent Privacy. The only problem is that this kind of encryption presents some kinds of vulnerabilities and vulnerabilities are not really appropriate into a defense system...
Another encryption method exists and this one is even better than the WEP, it's called WPA, Wi-Hi Protected Access. The mains reasons why this encryption method is more secure are: the use of rotating keys, the use of user-specific keys and authentication certificates, which are verifying the connection sessions.
There is one more thing that you must do to protect your Linksys Wireless Network: install an antivirus. The antivirus' role is to protect your computer from viruses, Trojan horses, hackers, spams, worms and other kind of intruders that are capable of damaging your system. If your computer is protected by an antivirus and so are all the computers that are connected to the network, your chances of corruption and network malfunctions are decreased which is pretty good to improve your network security.
