"Knucklebone Witch" is a 1/1 black goblin shaman printed as a rare for the Magic the Gathering expansion set known as "Lorwyn." This is one of the cards printed in the Lorwyn block that encourage players to build around the theme of goblins. If you are using a goblin themed deck, you can very much get a lot of play with Knucklebone Witch. Make sure you have cards that have great interact with this creature.
The converted mana cost for Knucklebone Witch is one. You will need one black mana to play Knucklebone Witch on the battlefield. For what the Knucklebone Witch can do, the converted mana cost is well worth it. This is a creature that only costs one mana. If you can bring Knucklebone Witch onto the game early enough, you can boost it by mid-game.
What does the Knucklebone Witch do in the first place?
Whenever a goblin you control is sent to the graveyard from the battlefield, you get to put a +1/+1 counter on the Knucklebone Witch. The ability is very simplistic for the most part. However, you do not want to simply wait to let your goblins die out in order to beef up the Knucklebone Witch. There are faster ways to do this.
You should have cards such as "Goblin Assault," "Weirding Shaman," and "Marsh Flitter." In a black and red deck, Goblin Assault is good because it lets you produce a 1/1 red goblin token at the start of your upkeep. In a few turns, you can produce enough to sacrifice in order to use the ability of Weirding Shaman. Weirding Shaman lets you sacrifice a goblin to produce two 1/1 black goblin rogue tokens. Marsh Flitter lets you sacrifice a goblin to make it into a 3/3 creature until the end of the turn.
By sacrificing these goblin tokens, they are sent to the graveyard in a sense. But, you get to put those +1/+1 counters on the Knucklebone Witch. You simply use the other cards and leave the Knucklebone Witch alone for the time being. Simply allow the Knucklebone Witch to get stronger in the next few turns. Then, you can start aggressively swinging with Knucklebone Witch for a good amount of damage.
Overall, the Knucklebone Witch is a good card. However, you need plenty of goblins for it. You have to build a goblin-themed deck in order to make good use out of the Knucklebone Witch.
