MOTHER'S WEEP
He returned a hero, they all said,
A hero in a flag draped casket,
My baby boy is dead...
From the day I first heard his cry,
And held him to my breast,
He was my hero, he was the best...
He loved the Lord Jesus,
He loved his home,
He said, "I will never leave you mom."
We stood many trials,
The bravest ten year old,
He helped me through the heat and the bitter cold...
He measured himself to me,
"One day I will be as tall,
Taller even maybe tallest of all!"
So tall, long black hair,
Next to his girl at the prom,

In a circle of prayer, as they declared war,
In fear I cried, "Not my son!"
"Oh, Dear Lord, not my only one!"
He returned a hero, they all said,
In a flag draped casket,
My little boy is dead...
Oh, to hold him to my breast,
Just once more darling (sigh),
Just one more lullaby...
He may be your hero, as all is said,
In a flag draped casket,
My hero is dead, "Lord keep him..."
