Eating right and working out have become a part of your daily routine thanks to Weight Watchers. Congratulations, you look great, you feel great, and now you have the body you worked so hard to get. You are familiar with temptation and how to avoid it, but what steps can you take to prepare for temptation on your vacation? No matter where your destination, these tips will help you stick to the Weight Watchers plan while on your trip.
1. Eating Plan
Create your eating plan before you leave. How many points do you want to stick to while on vacation? Knowing this ahead of time will keep you from saying I can splurge, I'm on vacation, those are dangerous words and can really throw you off track. You also should decide how you want to use your FlexPoints.
2. Prepare for Temptation
Preparation is a lifesaver when you are tempted. Divide up some of your favorite Weight Watchers snacks and carry them with you. This way a calorie packed muffin in the airport won't have to screw up your whole day. Have your baggies of snacks easily accessible and not tucked away in times of need.
3. Pattern
Again, many people say that while on vacation you can eat whatever you want. If you do splurge, you do not have to take it to the extreme. Have a pattern for your eating. Decide if you will eat a little in the morning and afternoon and then have a big dinner. All three meals should not be a splurge.
4. Portions and Choices
Portions are still important while on vacation. Split the meal with someone or ask to have half of the meal put in a carry out container. Also, choose meals that are steamed, grilled or sauted. This will help in keeping with your points.
5. Dessert
There will be many chances for temptation when it comes to desserts and sweets. Vacation is an especially difficult time to avoid them. If everyone you are with is getting ice cream, get the sorbet or low fat ice cream. If dessert is ordered following dinner, ask someone if they would like to split something.
6. Work Out
When booking your hotel, search for one that includes a workout facility. Having the ability to walk or jog on the treadmill or take a spin on the bike will help to keep you in your workout routine. If there is no workout room, explore your vacation spot by going hiking or renting a bicycle. Psychical activity is important while on vacation. A week off from working out makes it even harder to get back into the swing of things when you get home.
Most of all while on your vacation have fun. Eating healthy and keeping up with your workout routine can be a part of your vacation. Preparing and making good decisions will help your Weight Watchers plan continue to be a success.
