The seasons of love like the seasons of earth
Portend new awakenings of a mysterious birth
Steadfast and anxious, Spring flowers wait for their cue
As I in my reveries once sat waiting for you
Summer eves opened my veiled, hidden heart
I never envisioned us being apart
As Autumn crept near with its trees in array
Contentment was mine for I knew you would stay
Winter snows were foretelling an unsettling dawn
The promise of seasons, like love, was now gone
The seasons of love like the seasons of life
Can make you a widow before you're a wife
