Poetry: Together

by Jim Snyder

Created on: November 03, 2009

To Get Her

Should conscious weave so fine a thread that by its nature binds

Not by twist or tether instead perhaps a wishful wizened blend

Might it create but one consciousness cohered with likened strands

Very like molecular covalence as though through love's demand

So that when the mere physical and spiritual cannot abide

Through one new mind designed to more than simply intertwine

We will in moments laugh or sigh somehow together wound

Though miles and circumstance seem heinous plots against

Through this likeness of kind we can yet together bind

And though through flesh together a love we'll doubtful find

We can remain so thoughtful a thing intricately defined

Through one new mind designed to more than simply intertwine
