Can I erase my stretch marks?

Stretch marks are a part of human life that many of us deal with in silence. These marks are caused when the body goes a period of rapid weight gain or weight loss like during pregnancy, or during puberty after a growing spurt. Take action instead of suffering in silence and wishing that your stretch marks were gone. Most turn to cosmetic surgery to fix their little imperfections, but getting rid of your stretch marks does not have to require drastic measures like going under the knife. In these difficult economic times of recession few have the spare resources to pay for this type of elective procedure. And not all of those who can afford cosmetic surgery want to go through that type of experience and the possible complications associated with cosmetic surgery just to get rid of their stretch marks. There are many life-threatening risks that are associated with surgery such as bacterial infection. Why put yourself, and your family, through the risks associated with surgery if it is not an issue of life or death?

Stretch marks can make a person feel self-conscious about them self, which, in drastic situations, could lead to possible social and personality disorders. Some people have such a bad self image because of their stretch marks that they limit them self to minimum human interaction especially during warmer weather. Staying indoors with little human interaction while having a negative feeling about one's body is one of the major causes of over-eating. Never again do you have to dread Summertime and bathing suit weather. A boost of confidence is just a bottle of cocoa butter away.

There are many types of expensive over-the-counter creams, but the best and cheapest remedy is good old fashioned lotion. Cocoa butter to be exact available at most local drug stores. Palmer's Cocoa Butter for Stretch Marks is recommended by many dermatologists for stretch marks and recommended by tattoo artists to hydrate dry skin. Palmer's Cocoa Butter for Stretch Marks is also recommended by obstetricians to reduce stretch marks in women after pregnancy and giving birth.

A treatment of cocoa butter should be applied sparingly to the effected area at least 3 times a day, every day. Repetition is the key, so missing a day will noticeably set you back. Try not to go out into direct sun light especially if you have missed a day, or more, of treatment. If you have missed a day or more of the cocoa butter treatment it is not necessary to increase the amount of lotion you have been using every day. In fact using too much lotion will clog the pores in the skin and cause break-outs and oily skin. Use just enough cocoa butter to moisten the skin. To be sure there is no excess lotion gently wash the area each night and re-apply lotion before going to bed. The skin absorbs lotion easier after being washed because the pores will still be open from the warm water. Differences can generally be noticed within 2 to 3 weeks of treatment, but sometimes changes can be noted as quickly as 1 week.
