First design a business website to show prospective clients what you can do, and use it to promote your website design business. You need to decide how much you want to charge for your time and your expertise. This will depend on the size of the website and how much work is involved.

You can find job offers and requests for freelance website designers when you register with a freelance job site, but you might be charged a fee. Any work you do will have to be completed by a set deadline.

* Look for requests in webmaster forums and on Craigslist, where you can also promote your web design business.

Each site should be designed to generate income from the ads and to highlight affiliate product you promote. You make money from visitors who are interested in finding out more from the banners and text ads at each site.

* Be sure to identify and use the best performance keywords for search engine optimization.

[3] Market and promote your website design service and your own niche sites.

You can increase extra income when you participate in forums and use social sites. Earn yourself a good reputation, and gain a big following, by being helpful to other forum members and by sharing useful information.

When you are active at social networks your sites will benefit from the extra traffic, and you will find plenty of clients in need of a your web design service.

* Use any opportunity to target traffic to your own sites, and be sure to include your business name and contact details on each one.

Good website design skills are of great value. When you use your spare time to design websites you should earn plenty of extra income.
