Do amnesties transform illegals into patriotic Americans

In giving illegals amnesty, the US is essentially saying that our laws governing legal immigration are just words that mean nothing and that it's quite alright to bypass the steps to legal immigration.

If in granting this amnesty, the government thinks that all illegals will become patriotic Americans that kind of thinking just goes to prove that we are being governed by fools.

Those who came across the border illegally but wanted to become American citizens have gone ahead and done just that. There are many hard working Mexican - Americans who became American citizens, are holding down jobs legally, own their own homes, pay taxes and are raising their children to be proud Americans.

On the other hand, there are millions of illegal Mexican immigrants who despise America and want nothing to do with American citizenship. Some are here to deal drugs and steal from Americans. Some take jobs, make money ( and send it back to Mexico ), pay no taxes, take advantage of free food, lodging and health care and raise their children to hate America and Americans as well.

If the US wants to forgive illegals for crossing the border and ignoring the laws that we have in place, why stop there? American citizens who are incarcerated for illegal and criminal activities in these United States should be given amnesty too and be let out of jail. That would certainly take care of the problem of prison overcrowding.

When the "rights" of Illegal immigrants are being thrown in our faces, let us not forget that American citizens have rights too and those rights should not be overlooked when "forgiveness" for breaking our laws is being handed out by our "benevolent" government.

Why should we have laws in place anyway? When the US government is willing to grant amnesty to the illegals thereby forgiving them for breaking our law, they are setting a precedent that has no boundaries when it comes to legal issues and our laws - so why not get rid of them?

Why should American citizens be held to the laws in our country when illegals can get away with breaking them - get rid of all laws and let the best men, women and children win. Now wouldn't that be the fair thing to do?

Of course Mexico must accept American citizens who choose to come into their country illegally. They must be provided free housing, food and medical care and the right to take jobs from the locals- right is right, no? After all, how hard is Mexico working to close their borders and stop the influx of illegals into the US? Not very hard if you count the number of illegals crossing over the border and disappearing into the US every day.

To say to illegals that it is "OK" to break our law is a slap in the face to those who have followed the rules and entered here legally and to Americans who respect the law and are law-abiding citizens. Is it any wonder then that there is so much anger against illegals?

For those who would say that Americans are being "racist' when we demand that our government enforce immigration laws and object to having our tax dollars used to house, feed, clothe and educate illegals I have a suggestion. We will keep our tax dollars and we will help our homeless find shelter, we will help our disabled citizens get good housing, find jobs and live better than they are do now.

We will help small businesses start up and see to it that they become successful. We will help our fellow American citizens wherever help is needed because we will have the money needed to do so.

The "do gooders" who call us racist can spend their money on housing, feeding, clothing and educating the illegals in America. How long will it take before they are complaining about what it's costing them? Who among us will care?

Justice will have been served.
