Coffee makers: Get your morning jolt

There are many different types of coffee makers on the market today, all with their own unique style of making coffee and their own price as well. For most people though, the need for coffee making capabilities is pretty standard and does not require a very fancy coffee maker, just one that is easy to use and brews the basic pot of coffee every morning. Most consumers do not need all of the extra bells and whistles that some makers have, rather they simply need an on/off switch and perhaps an automatic timer so that they can program it to start right away in the morning for them in order to have the coffee ready at a certain time. There are many different types of coffee makers that have their own pros and cons.

Some coffee makers are very simplistic in design and only have a base, cone filter, water tank, and carafe and that's it, nothing else to them. These types of coffee makers usually require that you do all of the work accept from the brewing. So you are responsible for filling the water, filter, and turning the machine on and off when you are using it and not using it. These types of coffee makers are fine if you can be sure that you will be there to turn it on and off.

Other coffee makers are a little more complex in that they have additional features beyond that of the traditional coffee maker. Some of these types of coffee makers have the capability of being run on auto pilot, so to say, when you are not able to be there to make sure every step is carried out. In most cases, the real added functionality comes in the form of the automatic turn on/shut off capabilities. These coffee makers can be programmed to start and stop at certain times of the day based on what you have set. For those that are on a tight schedule, these types of coffee makers come in very handy.

Another type of coffee maker that is available on the market is one that only makes a single serving at a time. This is great for those who are constantly on the run and only have time for one or tow cups of coffee in the morning. In this case, they simply load what they need for one cup of coffee, start it up, and then grab it and go when it has completed. There is no wasting of coffee because there is only enough for one cup. If they drink one cup and have time for another, the process for brewing one cup is enough that they can quickly brew another one before having to leave.

Finally, there are coffee makers that are made for the commercial environment, meaning they are capable of producing mass amounts of coffee. This is important when you have to be able to serve coffee to many people in a short amount of time. The basic coffee makers would not be capable of keeping up with the demand, so the commercial versions are made to product large volumes in a short period of time. These types of coffee makers are most commonly used by restaurants and other businesses with high employee traffic.

So you see there are a number of different types of coffee makers, all with their own unique functionality and purpose. Hopefully after reading this article you will know the general differences between the different types and be able to identify which type is right for you.
