Christmas 2009: Hottest dorm items for female college students

by Lorraine Traylor

Created on: November 03, 2009

As a parent, grandparent or friend you wish all the best to the young lady going away to college preparing to embark on her new life and career. Always think safety first. You can't always be there to protect her nor can anyone else. Help make her feel safe away from home.

Mini Window Door Alarm 2 pack

College life can be difficult on the figure and the purse. Help her get around campus with this easy to store fold up bike. She may have a place to secure it outside the classroom but not want to carry a bicycle up dorm stairs.

Give her a choice other than take out with this combination refrigerator / microwave from Wal-mart. Remember the freshman twenty? Or was it the freshman forty? Help her eat healthier.

Now she is safe, she has transportation/exercise that she can store easily and she is fed and watered. Storage . . . do women need storage? Yes! And a lot of it!

Lifts a bed a full six inches increasing the storage space underneath in tight quarters such as a dorm room. Of course she will have a closet and maybe even a bathroom also . . .

That could very well be the best link in this article, packed with storage aids.

She will have to leave her dorm occasionally to attend a class or two but while she is there and safe and fed, she will need a good computer she can count on. One that is portable and has a lot of memory and a printer/fax/scanner. A mass storage device to back up all her data and flash drives to carry for her smaller assignments.

Maxtor Personal Storage 5000DV - Hard drive - 200 GB - external - FireWire / Hi-Speed USB - 7200 rpm - buffer: 8 MB

Maxtor 200GB mass storage device should work nicely.

Four 2GB Newegg flash drives should be perfect.

Top her computing ensemble off with one of Sony's laptops.

Lastly, for her school work she will need a printer, fax and scanner all in one. This one will do graphic arts projects, term papers and print her pictures for her too.

Every dorm room needs a television for down time and what better way to save a few dollars than to purchase a refurbished TV from Sony.

Of course if a dorm room was this well equip . . . who would want to go to class?
