It appears taht the EPA's 2008 budget fails to address climate change. It also fails to address the issue of the Earth being flat, the universe rotating around the Earth, AIDS being transmittable by touch alone, and Puff the Magic Dragon.
When are we going to realize that science, rather than focusing on answers, is actually focused on refining questions? Scientists across the world are in agreement about this. Actually, they're not, much like they're not actually in agreement about the whole Global Warming issue. Yes, the globe appears to be warming at a faster rate than normal. No the EPA can't control that. We as individuals have greater control of it than the monstrous, practically useless entity that the EPA has become. Remember the EPA in Ghostbusters? That guy who shut off the holding grid? See what happened? You can't trust the EPA!
Okay, all kidding aside, it is apparent that the globe is warming faster than historical patterns would predict. It is fairly clear that humans are abetting this issue, but we have made mistakes before and fixed them. This whole crisis mentality shows a remarkable lack of faith in human kind. We are getting more and more conscious and aware of the problem, and things are happening. The doomsayers and others need to be ignored as we each try to reduce our wasteful and lazy ways. What we need to listen to is unbiased information, which is sadly lacking. So we had better trust ourselves to take the right action.
