Guide to the best electric guitar brands

There are many types of electric guitar brands out there and it is almost impossible to say that one guitar brand is better than another because it all depends on your personal preferences. Although it is hard to say which brand is best, there are a few brands that most guitar players use. Some of these brands include Gibson, Fender, Jackson, Ibanez, Dean, ESP, Schecter, Gretsch, and many more. Although there are many guitar brands, most guitars are split up into Fender categories or Gibson categories. This is because Gibson are very big guitar manufacturers. Usually, a guitar sounds similar to a Fender or a Gibson.

Gibson guitars are very well rounded instruments. They're good for playing many styles of music like jazz, blues, and rock to name a few. Gibson's guitar sound is very unique to the company because of the wood that they use. Most Gibson guitars are made out of a solid mahogany body. The wood is very dense and heavy, giving it a loud warm tone. One draw back to having a mahogany body guitar, is that it is very heavy resulting in the guitar being uncumfotable while playing staying up with a strap on.

Fender guitars are almost completely opposite to Gibson guitars. Fenders are very good for playing blues and jazz styles of music although you might not want to use them for heavier styles of music like heavy metal of hard rock. This is because the pickups are single-coil pickups. This means that the pickup (which is a magnet) is less strong than say a humbucking pickup. A humbucking pickup is two single coil pickups put together side by side which gives it a louder sound like a Gibson. Fenders also have a light body which is usually made up of alder wood. This wood is very light and less dense also contributing to the less heavy sound.

These brands are all great guitar brands, but don't take my word for it! The best way to find out if a guitar sounds good , feels good, and looks good, is for you to try it out yourself. Go to any guitar store and see how you like it. Look for how it sounds, look for how it feels. Finally, do a little research on a perticular guitar you like. Never go into a store without a budget or an idea of what you like because this could result in an impulse purchase! If you plan on getting your guitar used, make sure you know the price of that instrument to make sure you don't over pay.

Lastly, try and bargain for an instrument you like. Big name stores try and make you happy so try and offer a little bit lower than the price on the tag. I hope this guide has helped you get a little insight on some of the best guitar brands, and help you gain a better understanding of buying your first guitar.
