The slow march to tyranny has begun here in the Valley of the Sun. The green oppression has had little impact on my personal life until now. The tree hugging politicians that control the EPA in the past are nothing like the new school of SS green police.

I live in Phoenix. Maybe the EPA director in Washington that is located right next to the continually flowing Potomac forgot certain things about the environment in a desert. Phoenix is not a desert because it is hot. We don't exactly have a river running through town all year. What we have is a giant wash.

Most of the Phoenix water comes from the Colorado River. The river is located at a lower elevation than the Phoenix Valley. So through modern ingenuity the Central Arizona Project built a large canal that pumps water uphill to Phoenix and Tucson in Southern Arizona. Thousands of jobs revolve around powering this canal at the central power plant in Northern Arizona on the Navajo Reservation.

The Navajo and Hopi tribes (tribes that refuse to use casinos as their source of income) partially depend on the power plant to drive their economy. They run the plant and mine the coal from their reservations. This plant is partially owned by a power company from California as well. The coal run power plant is emitting smoke and the EPA has them in their cross hairs.

To my utter astonishment, the Arizona Republic reported on the current situation of Arizona's water supply. We're in trouble. The federal government and the EPA have ordered the plant to buy the air scrubbing technology so the smoke from the plant won't be so black. Not to mention the California investors in the plant are about to be penalized as well under the new seek and destroy green laws they are passing in their state.

There were a few startling scenarios listed in the Republic that will concern the Phoenix and Tucson metro areas. If the plant buys the technology, depending on how they are allowed to amortize the payments, we could see a rise in our water bill of fifty to one hundred percent. They could also cut jobs to try and keep costs and prices even.

Next, they could shut down the plant and buy energy from other states, and the price of water is suspected to quadruple. The Central Arizona Project said that is has been planning on renewable energy to power the canal but the amount of water that it moves requires more energy than solar panels and windmills can provide.

Last, we could become exactly what these green revolutionaries want. We could revert to the Stone Age, break up into small tribes that don't have a carbon footprint and become hunter gatherers again. Oh wait, even during the Stone Age the story of the Phoenix valley has been the same. It has always revolved around water.

But the green Caesars are here to stay. Rome has slipped from a Republic to the new Green Empire. Those who dare attempt moving water to millions of people living in a desert must suffer the consequences. All hail the Green Tyrants in Washington!
