Poetry: Dreams & hope

The wave crashes over me
And destroys everything in its path.
Funny how its always on time,
Just like the changing tides.

The fog rolls in to take its turn
And blankets the air above my head.
It does its task willingly,
Providing my own personal cloud of doom.

Hello despair.

The burdens are heavy,
So difficult to meet the challenges of today.
They hold me down,
Keeping the happiness at bay.

Life goals quickly disappear,
And shatter into a thousand pieces.
Fragments disintegrate into space,
As if they never existed.

Goodbye dreams.

And then I sense the warmth,
The feeling that cannot be denied.
As the radiating heat intensifies,
I peek from under my blanket of gray.

A single ray of light shines,
It pierces my veil of shadows.
Suddenly I am reminded of the possibilities,
And tomorrow will be better.

Hello hope.
