Some ask the question Is the Bible outdated and irrelevant? When I hear this question I ask, How can the word which proceeded out of the mouth of God, ever be thought thought of as outdated or irrelevant?
The Bible is the Word of God, and it is known to be the number one selling book of all time; no other book has ever surpassed it. The Bible was written by the author of creation, the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.
The written word of the Bible is a guide and a road map to life for God's most precious creation, mankind. God gave forth His word for man to follow and to live by so that man would live a life fulfilled, and have eternal life and never die.
God and His word are forever, He is unchanging and timeless and so is His word. The word of God was created for and applies to all generations since the beginning of time. Times change, people change, life changes, but the word of God never changes. God does not change, ever. The word of God is the substance of which mankind has built his systems of morals and values on throughout the ages.
God always was and always will be and so it is true of His word. God has no beginning and He has no end and through the generations of man, whom he created, He and His word are proclaimed as truth.
The Word of God is the Sword of the Spirit and along with the Sword of the Spirit comes the Belt of Truth, which declares the Word of God to be true and relevant. The Sword of the Spirit and the Belt of Truth do not stand alone. They are entwined with the Shield of Faith, which is the belief in that which we cannot see, and with that comes the Breastplate of Righteousness, all these are accompanied by the Helmet of Salvation, which is our hope of eternal life in the Kingdom of God.
All these things, the Sword of the Spirit, the Belt of Truth, the Shield of Faith, the Breastplate of Righteousness, and the Helmet of Salvation, are the armor of God, and are the true Word of God, and they will never go out of style, come outdated or irrelevant in any way if we put them on each and everyday of our lives, as we are taught to do in His word in Ephesians 6:14-18.
