"Epic Proportions" is a green creature enchantment printed as a rare for the Magic the Gathering expansion set known as "Lorwyn." This is one of the types of valuable creature enchantments to have. If you are playing an aggressive deck let alone with green, Epic Proportions is definitely a card you want to have for the most part. Should you be playing aggressively, you will definitely get a lot out of Epic Proportions. In a sense, this could be considered better than "Might of Oaks."
The converted mana cost for Epic Proportions is six. You will need two green mana and four colorless mana to bring Epic Proportions from your hand and onto the battlefield. For what this card can do, the converted mana cost is well worth it. Keep in mind that Epic Proportions is an enchantment. Any spells and abilities that target enchantments will affect Epic Proportions.
What does Epic Proportions do in the first place?
The first thing about Epic Proportions is that it has Flash. Flash means that you can play Epic Proportions at any given time you can play an instant spell. Today, Wizards of the Coast has done away with the ruling that you would have to sacrifice it at the end of the turn. Because of this, cards that have Flash are more valuable today than they were in the past. In short, you can play Epic Proportions anytime during the game if you have a creature.
The second ability is that Epic Proportions gives the enchanted creature +5/+5 and Trample. A creature that gets +5/+5 with Trample is great. This is because you can do a lot of damage against an opponent. There are ways of getting much use out of Epic Proportions.
One way would be building a red and green deck. You simply enchant a creature with Epic Proportions and use something such as "Rage Reflection" to give creatures Double Strike. A creature with Double Strike and Trample goes a long way. In this respect, you can really mess up an opponent.
In a green and black deck, you can enchant "Lord of Extinction." Doing so would cause an opponent to lose the game if s/he is hit by Lord of Extinction. Lord of Extinction has the power and toughness equal to the number of cards in all graveyards. However, it does not have Trample. If you give Lord of Extinction the ability of Trample via Epic Proportions, you can decimate an opponent.
In an Exalted deck, you can get much use out of Epic Proportions. If a creature enchanted with Epic Proportions attacks alone, it can do a lot of damage. With cards such as "Rafiq of the Many," "Battlegrace Angel," and "Finest Hour" on the battlefield at the same time, that creature becomes devastating.
Overall, Epic Proportions is an impressive creature enchantment. If you are playing aggressively with green cards, you should definitely have Epic Proportions in your deck.
