"Faerie Tauntings" is a black enchantment printed as an uncommon for the Magic the Gathering expansion set known as "Lorwyn." From the looks of this card, it is something you may want to play in a control deck that has black cards. So far, the card does not look all that for the most part. However, this is a useful card provided that you have other cards on the battlefield that compliment its ability.
The converted mana cost for Faerie Tauntings is three. You will need one black mana and two colorless mana to bring Faerie Tauntings from your hand and onto the battlefield. For what this card can do, the casting cost may seem to be worth it. However, not many people may want to play Faerie Tauntings in the first place because the ability alone is not great at all. Keep in mind that Faerie Tauntings is an enchantment spell. Anything that targets enchantments will affect Faerie Tauntings.
What does Faerie Tauntings do in the first place?
Whenever you play a spell during an opponent's turn, you may have each opponent lose one point of life. In this respect, you would need instant spells and cards with the ability of Flash in order to get use out of Faerie Tauntings. So far, Faerie Tauntings does not seem to be that useful at all. However, there are ways you can get more out of Faerie Tauntings. But, one would have to put forth a good amount of effort in order to do so. Alone, Faerie Tauntings is not that great. There are better ways to make opponents lose points of life.
How do you get use out of Faerie Tauntings?
One would be to have at least two or three of those cards on the battlefield. In a strict black deck, this should be easy. With three on the battlefield, you can make each opponent lose three points of life whenever you play a spell during an opponent's turn.
Next, you will need a card such as "Wound Reflection." When that is on the battlefield, each opponent will lose points of life equal to the amount s/he has lost this turn at the start of the end step. In this respect, Wound Reflection would double the amount of life points that your opponents lose. Still, that takes effort to get the mana to play Wound Reflection.
Then, you would need instant spells. One good spell would be "Cruel Edict" which makes a target player sacrifice a creature. Find any spell that costs two mana or less and imprint that onto the "Isochron Scepter." Have some card that allows you to untap an artifact. In this respect, you tap the Isochron Scepter to play the spell during an opponent's turn. The effects of Faerie Tauntings will kick in. In turn, Would Reflection will kick in. Then, you can use anything to untap Isochron Scepter and repeat the process.
Overall, this card alone is not that great. You could make it useful with other cards. However, it seems that you might not want to go through all that trouble. There are other ways to make opponents lose life points.
