Poetry: The end

by Erica Thomas

It's cold out here

but I want to freeze

numb all this hurt

take it all away please

Vie felt this before

and my heart should know

that all this pain

should be used to grow

But I'm stuck in a moment

where only love existed

but when I go to find it

find you empty hearted and close fisted

Banging my head

against this wall

over and over

I'm praying just to fall

I want to give up

just forget it all

erase my memory

erase all the love I saw

the potential and happiness

the smiles and fun

I want it to disappear

I'm throwing in the towel

I'm done
