Having a best friend is more important than money, a good credit reputation, or having the best possible job; because, with a good best friend, you have something that cannot be purchased, it comes free with all the benefits of having someone who cares for you, and will go to the end of the world to help you when you need it. A best friend might be unemployed, broke, down and out, divorced or even in jail. Do any of these situations cause you to separate yourself from this best friend? If so, sorry, but you are not a good best friend; perhaps in name only, but not a truly best friend. Let me offer what attributes make up a best friend.
*l) A best friend is truthful. When he tells you something, you can expect it to be truthful, and never lies about things that would make him look better in your eyes. He is truthful with you also. He will tell you when you are doing things the are not the best for you. He cares about you, and wants the best for you. A best friend will tell you things others will not tell you, because he cares about you. A best friend is trustworthy to the end of time.
*2) Trustworthiness is essential for a best friend; whatever you tell him, you know that you can count on him to keep it go himself, rather than tell others. Whether you discuss money, finances, gambling, contracts, events, it will not be shared with others, this is a key trait for a successful best friend. Having a sense of humor is critical to get along with a best friend.
*3) Humor. I had a best friend and we joke a great deal, even in letters, on the phone,. he would crack me up with the latest joke, or something that was humorous that happened to him that day. Live is tough, but if you have someone to share the funny side of life, it makes life lighter, and better. Honesty is part and parcel of a best friend.
*4). Honesty. When she said she is going to do something she will do it. If you ask your best friend to hold money for you, to help you in some way, and you promise to do it. Follow through. A good friend is honest in every situation in your relationship. You know you can expect the best. Unselfishness is an added bonus to a fruitful relationship with a best friend.
*5), Unselfishness. Nothing spoils your relationship more than when a friend, continues to ask, "What are you going to do for me, when do I get my present, when can you help me, etc.?" A good friend need not ask for favors all the time for himself, and nor will he neglect to ask you how you are doing in your life. Good friends are interested in you, and what they can do for you, and sometimes this is only listen to you. Let's wind up.
Summary. Good friends are the important things you can have in you life. But, these are not bought at the store, or you don't buy them with a ticket, or purchase them at any price. You work hard in your relationship with your best friends, and you let them know how much you love them and need them in your life. You are there for them, in their setbacks, and in their joyous times of their live. You know how they bless you and you life, and you need them every step of the way in life.
