Songs: The state of my heart

In My White Rocker

Like a child, my heart is broken
When no one came to take me home
Waiting faithfully, I never doubted
He would come to pick me up

A sad face my smile turned wrong side up
I sat in my white rocker watching
The cars pass by one by one
Never doubting he would come

Half pass the hour I knew he wasn't coming
I started calling to remind him I'm still here
All my calls went unanswered
He never returned any of my calls

Waiting thinking, something went wrong
My heart sunk hoping all was okay
Calling everyone, to get some answers
The hour came and went wondering if he forgot

My brother picked up the phone, but it's too late
I should have called he would have come
To take me to my father who waited my presence, but
I couldn't find him when I tried

Now I discern no one's coming to take me home
It's way too late the meeting has started
I sit in my white rocker watching the road
As the cars pass, one by one, none came for me

Like a child, my heart is broken
When no one came to take me home
Waiting faithfully, I never thought
He'd never show up
