Poetry: Man vs. nature

by John G Evans

Created on: November 01, 2009   Last Updated: December 02, 2009

Finest flower of spirituality -

Dances metaphorically on every rock and tree,

Flows where the four winds breathe -

As your mind dissolves to be set free,

Hardened breeze of humanity -

Superior not of love and honesty,

Embattled violence rains such vain validity -

fertility god lives as willed to Nature's creed,

And man versus Nature still plants the seed,

Bringing crops of feed through weather and weed,

A breath of fresh air as the rains do come -

Smiling man of faith, bearing fruits or none.

The path of nature at times may be cruel -

But to sit and complain, a beggars fool.

One must work hard to gain some ground -

The light of the sun freshly shining on down.

As life can be rough and bitter, too -

Blue north'rs do blow and cut a man's face,

No matter the man, no matter the race -

But to work as a team can matter so much -

For man verses nature, still yet, we are touched.
