With the continuing escalation of the violence in Afghanistan and Iraq the United States is faced with a no win situation right now. Alkida and the Taliban have thwarted every attempt the United States has used to try in eliminating all terrorist activities that threaten global economies and human life. Now with the inception of the Lisbon Treaty the countries of Europe will finally become a federation of nations which together will have a much better chance of success in stopping the activities that undermine the stability and security of nations. The only way to eliminate any and all terrorists activity and organizations is with a multi national coalition that uses nations resources to identify and locate individuals, and groups that threaten any nations stability and security.

A unified Europe under one central government much like the United States with each country abiding by the articles of federation will create the biggest economy in the world and now will have the resources that when combined together all countries will be ensured that each nation will have the protection and the ingredients necessary for a stable and secure economy. The United States must support this treaty and embrace the union that when combined will now be able to eradicate any and all terrorists activity any where. The timing couldn't have come at a more opportune moment. The United States has been trying most unsuccessfully in achieving stability in Afghanistan and Iraq and now with this new European alliance, and the United Nations will have the manpower, the financial backing, and the technology to finally rid this type of plague that continues to use violence as a means to achieve their objectives.

Following the flow of financial backing into these organizations has so far eluded the United States. But, now with the Treaty of Lisbon if ratified { All indications point that it will pass} the availability of the European financial network will now be able to track the flow of currency and eventually stop the funds from reaching these terrorists organizations and that in turn will curtail the activities and acquiring of the weapons that are used to carry out their violent acts and atrocities against humanity. If the Treaty of Lisbon actually achieves all that it encompasses and the United States as well as the United Nations work together achieving the elimination of any and all terrorism activities will finally be a reality. Only through a combined effort will a real commitment toward the end of terrorism will the world be a much safer and secure place in which to live.
