By day
they huddle in the spaces
where sunlight can't see
pretending I don't know them
They follow me
I catch a glimpse, they try to hide
shadowy phantoms remembering
when I last saw them, and cried
They're lingering
By night
oh by night, they're exposed
memories of you
filling all the dark places, unopposed
They multiply
I bathe in them, they cling to me
like a second skin
inviting themselves in
They're undeniable
At rest
they travel deep inside
finding me, taking me
keeping me company
They know
How I miss you...
