How to keep your elementary school student's grades up:
Children that have a problem with their grades in elementary school are usually children that have some type of problem. This may be caused from vision, hearing, lack of interest, too many after school activities, or a disciplinary problem.
A parent is usually the last person to realize that their child may have a problem seeing the blackboard or a slight problem with their vision. This is a problem that can be remedied by getting your child's eyes checked. Once they get glasses, you will see a great improvement in their grades.

Too much socializing, being the class clown and just plain unruly behavior can cause your child to miss assignments and disrupt the class. Discipline should begin at home. The teacher doesn't have time or authority to discipline each child. The child knows this and will act accordingly.
Detention in school is the normal punishment for school children. Detention is just a class after school where the child can socialize with other children who have disrupted their classes. This really does nothing to correct the situation. It doesn't create
