Water is considered the life of living things. It is water that gives life to almost every living thing on this world. Without water, living things cannot live, let alone survive. This is the reason why three-fourths of the earth is water.

Imagine yourself not drinking water for a day, you feel drained, exhausted and weak. This is because our body needs water in order to function normally. A person could survive for weeks without food but without water, a person could die in a few days. That is how important water is to a human being.

Plants also need water. They need water to be able to make food and survive. Try not to water the plants for a few days and the plants would wither. They would die if you will not water them for a longer time. Water is very important to plants just like how important water is to man. In a community where water is scarce, living things would compete in order to have water for their own consumption. In a plant community, the smaller plants would die first without water for a few days. The bigger plants live longer because their trunks and branches have stored water in them that serves as there food even without being watered for a long time. But even big trees die if there is no water for a very long time. This is the reason why only a few type of plants could survive in the desert.

Whether you have a garden, a restaurant, a laundry shop or just any kind of business or even while you are at home, you need water. Water is everything to a man's life. I don't know how man could survive when there is no more water on the earth.

There are a million and one uses of water. Once water is gone, life couldn't be possible on earth. And once water would be too scarce for everybody to have, many lives would be gone and a possibility of world war will occur. If people cannot have water to drink, they could kill just to have a cup of it.

However we want not to think about water being gone, the global warming is already threatening the sources of water. Scarcity of water is already being felt in many areas in the world. Every year, the sources of potable water are becoming scarcer. So, it is not impossible that time will come when people will have no more clean water to drink.

But as in everything present on this earth, although water is very vital to living things, there are times when water becomes an enemy. Flood and tidal waves are perhaps the worst disasters that water could cause living things. Massive death, destruction of properties and crops are the worst harm that water could do to living things.

Water is one of the most important necessities of man in order to live. If each one will take responsibility to take care of the sources of water, we can have enough water all the time. This is a matter that all of us must be concerned about and do what we can to help maintain the availability of water around the world.
