In the World of Warcraft, there are innumerable ways to make gold, which is the in-game currency. Each method is tailored for a character's specific level, class, and player's strengths. For the sake of time, and the impossibility of writing a never ending article, this article will focus on gold-making strategies for the level 80 characters of World of Warcraft.

Before beginning your gold farming endeavor, it is a necessity to download the Auctioneer add-on package. This package will allow you to scan the auction house and keep you up to date as to the value of items in your auction house. It will also display the vendor-value and auction house value of any item you mouse over.

Grinding Mobs: This method of farming is most efficient for classes that have strong Area of Effect spells (AoE). Mages are usually extremely effective at grinding. All one has to do is find an area heavily populated with mobs that are humanoid. Next, get onto your mount and ride through the area and aggro as many of the mobs as you can handle at one time. Now simply dismount and kill everything that is attacking you-enjoy your loot!

Farming Materials: This method of farming is easy for any player, regardless of their class or race. In order to use this method you must have one of the gathering professions: Herbalism, Skinning, or Mining. All one must do is ride/run around, and gather the materials corresponding with your profession. Skinning and grinding mobs is a very lucrative combination as one can gather large groups of beasts, kill them, loot them, skin them, and then sell the loot and the leather. It will benefit you greatly to buy the fastest mount that you can get your hands on if you choose this method of farming.

Instance Farming: This method of farming is easiest for classes capable of taking large amounts of damage: Druids, Warriors, Death Knights, and Paladins. Simply pick an instance and clear it, completely. As a level 80 retribution Paladin can make over 150 gold an hour simply by running The Slave Pens repeatedly. This method of farming is best accompanied by the Enchanting profession-the player can disenchant all of the green and blue items in order to sell those materials on the auction house. Usually it is best to sell the weapons to vendors, and disenchant all of the armor. It is always best to refer to the information that you will get from the add-on package that this article suggests using. You can also usually find lower level characters that are willing to pay you to take them through instances. This increases your profit yet again.

Daily quests: This method of farming is quickly becoming the most efficient. One can make over 1000g a day simply by doing the daily quests that Blizzard has put into the game.

Keep in mind that each method suits each player differently, and you may choose a method that is not the most lucrative simply because it is the most enjoyable. The bottom line is, you should not let gold ruin the game for you. Choose a method of farming that you enjoy. Happy gaming.
