Humor: Signs that you are obsessed

Humor: Obsessed with Writing

I like to write. I am obsessed with writing. Every time I get near my word processor I'm tapping out something on the keyboard. I can't help myself. I love words and I just start writing down words and sentences every chance I get. If I'm not close to the computer, I grab a pad of paper and a pen or pencil and start jotting down words that keep rolling out of my mind.

People know where to find me when they come to my door. They never find me in the kitchen cooking or dreaming up something wonderful for dinner and I'm never out walking to keep up my strength or doing any kind of exercise - oh no, I have to be in my studio trying to decipher everything my brain comes up with. I'd rather try to impress someone with something I write down or tap out on the word processor.

Yes, I'm obsessed with writing in the worst way. You never can tell, if I keep at it like I have lately, I could end up with a best seller and then people won't make fun of me anymore for my obsessive writing. Stranger things have happened.

I know this obsessive writing is good for me, because when I'm writing, I'm happier than doing anything else. I know I'm obsessive about my writing because when I merely make out a grocery list, it has to be in alphabetical order. I go so far as to make sure the entire list passes the spell check. I find myself trying to make some of the words rhyme because I also love to write poetry. If I I have time, I try to write my entire grocery list into a short story. Writing is so interesting and so much fun. There is no doubt I'm obsessive about it.

I write down everything, and if there's any possibility at all, everything I write goes into an interesting story I can save in my special folder. Some day I will put them all together and have the most wonderful book published you ever read in your life.

I actually believe my obsessive writing is something I was born with, and it can't be helped. There is absolutely no help for me. It's just part of me now and I know in my heart I will continue this obsessive writing as long as I have life and limb.

The End
