"Boggart Mob" is a 4/4 black goblin warrior printed as a rare for the Magic the Gathering expansion set known as "Lorwyn." This is one of the several cards printed in the Lorwyn block that encourage players to build around a tribe or theme of creatures. In this respect, Boggart Mob encourages players to build around goblins. With the right combination of cards, you can really do a number on your opponents.
The converted mana cost for Boggart Mob is four. You will need one black mana and three colorless mana to bring Boggart Mob from your hand and onto the battlefield. For what the Boggart Mob can do, the converted mana cost is well worth it. When Boggart Mob is played, you have to "Champion a Goblin." It means you temporarily Exile a goblin from the game as long as Boggart Mob remains on the battlefield. Since it says goblin, you can use Exile a 1/1 goblin token if you want.
What does Boggart Mob do in the first place?
This creature has an ability that helps out your other goblins. When this is on the battlefield, you get to put a 1/1 black goblin rogue token onto the battlefield whenever a goblin under your control deals combat damage to a player. In this respect, you have means to spit out 1/1 goblin rouge token onto the battlefield. However, there are methods to get much bang out of the Boggart Mob's ability.
You want to combine this with "Door of Destinies," "Rage Reflection," "Goblin Assault," "Stinkdrinker Bandit," and "Weirding Shaman." With this combination of cards, Boggart Mob becomes very useful.
With Door of Destinies, you choose a creature type. Door of Destinies gets a charge counter for each spell you cast of that creature type. Creatures of the chosen type get +1/+1 for each charge counter on Door of Destinies. In this respect, you choose the goblin creature type. With each goblin spell you cast, your goblins get stronger. Your goblin rogue tokens created via Boggart Mob's ability get stronger in the process.
Rage Reflection gives all your creatures Double Strike. You deal Double Strike damage with one of your goblins, you get to put two 1/1 black goblin rogue tokens onto the battlefield. With Door of Destinies, those token creatures get a massive boost in power and toughness.
Goblin Assault allows you to put a 1/1 red goblin token onto the battlefield at the start of your upkeep. It will be granted a boost via Door of Destinies. All goblins attack if able when Goblin Assault is on the battlefield. Combined with Boggart Mob, you have a surefire chance of being able to produce those goblin rogue tokens.
With Stinkdrinker Bandit, rogue creatures get +2/+1 until the end of the turn should they be able to attack and not get blocked in the process. Should any of your goblin rogues attack successfully, they get +2/+1. Then you get to put more 1/1 black goblin rogues onto the battlefield.
Weirding Shaman lets you pay one black mana and three colorless mana to sacrifice a goblin and creature two 1/1 black goblin rogue tokens. You can sacrifice a few of the 1/1 black goblin rogue tokens produced via Boggart Mob to make more 1/1 black goblin rogue tokens. With Door of Destinies and Rage Reflection, you can create an army of juggernaunts.
Overall, Boggart Mob is a great card to have in any goblin deck. If you are planning to build around goblins, this is definitely one card you need to have on you.
