Everyone likes to pamper their loved ones, and for many people their loved ones include those of the four-legged, feathered, or scaly variety. Even when times are tough, many people are still willing to put some of their own desires aside in order to afford a little pampering for their pet. Whether it's an extra cuddle, a new toy, or a trip to the groomer, your pet will be grateful regardless of how much you spend.
Some people like to shower their pets with the best luxuries money can afford: extravagant sleeping quarters, the finest food, personal groomers and more. However, there is more to pampering your pet than lavishing the riches of the world on them. One of the many joys of owning a pet is the knowledge that even if you aren't swimming in wealth, you can still make your pet happy. It's nice to indulge your pet from time to time with that new chew toy, catnip mouse, or perch, but sometimes the best indulgences are free. Share the love with a massage or some home-made goodies, free of the crud that comes with most commercial treats. Give the gift money can't buy: affection.
Whatever your pampering style, you can rest easy in the knowledge that most pets are just as content to snuggle up with you on the couch as they are to play with their expensive new toys. However, everyone knows that there's no replacement for affection. Spend some time playing with your cat or let your dog join you for a walk. Your pet isn't the only one who will benefit from a little quality time - studies have shown that pets have positive effects on human health. Pets don't just look cute, but they help people unwind from the stresses of daily life and fend off loneliness. Pets do more for people than they're given credit for, so why not repay your companion with a little pampering?
