Regardless of your interest in life you will find it in beautiful, diversified Australia. It has something for anyone that enters its gates. This magnificent country has breathtaking beauty waiting there for you. Located in the Southern Hemisphere it is the perfect destination for your vacation. It has the usual city life and sightseeing but it also holds some terrific places for the sportsperson, the nature lover in you, the person that loves city life and the person that lives for the outdoors. Here are five of the top places to visit in Australia although this is very limited to what Australia offers anyone that step on its grounds.

The Great Barrier Reef

Everyone loves beaches and the ocean but there is world under the ocean that many don't get the chance to see. The Great Barrier Reef is one of those places, located in the Queens land Coast where it is part of the Coral Sea and one of the largest reefs that exists in the world. Under the blue waters lies a world all of its own. Here you can experience the sights of the humpback dolphins, dwarf minke whales, flat back turtles, olive ridley turtles and even salt-water crocodiles. This will create memories that will never be forgotten. The beauty that lies under the water will leave you feeling like you just visited another planet.

If bird watching is a specialty of yours then you have just entered bird watchers heaven. They live on the reef and will amaze you with their colorful bodies and antics. To view all this beauty you can take a special boat that lets you get an insight of the life below or if your into scuba diving you can swim with the fishes and get an up close and personal look at what lies below this beautiful blanket of water.

Sydney Harbor

Sydney Harbor is a harbor that was made by nature without the intervention of man. This is a must on anyone's itinerary when visiting Australia. The sight is breathtaking with the Sydney Harbor Bridge and the Sydney Opera House adding to the beauty. The architecture of the Sydney Opera House is a jaw dropping experience on its own. If you enjoy opera then taking in a concert at the Sydney Opera House is a must. The bridge itself is an awesome sight. Some daring people climb this bridge but safety is in place for anyone that enjoys this experience. The view from the top is magnificent. If you happen to be vacationing at New Years then this bridge will give you an added thrill on New Years Eve by producing the most incredible fireworks that you can imagine.

Tasmania

Tasmania is a jewel with its natural, unspoiled beauty. The views are breathtaking but that is not all there is to Tasmania. If you arrive in Australia during the Christmas season you will experience the Carols in the Candlelight, which takes place at Tasmania every year. There are also yacht races, music events, food festivals and even their cheese is a hit with anyone that chooses to visit there. Try taking an excursion for six days leaving from Cradle Mountains Overland Track that will take you over breathtaking mountainous terrain. For anyone that has a wandering, exploring nature this will be an unforgettable experience.

Melbourne

Any vacation would not be complete without a day or two of shopping and Melbourne can certainly fit the bill for this experience. Melbourne has it all so be prepared to be dazzled. Chapel Street offers over a thousand shops in its mere two-kilometer stretch. There are bistros, designer boutiques and so much more. Find little antique stores that hold unique treasures to take back home. Melbourne is a city on the move and has all the experiences of a wonderful vacation wrapped up in one.

There are restaurants that can serve a bun on the run or the finest dinning experience you'll ever encounter. There are museums that will take you back to the past and places that has scenery that will make you wonder how it can get any better than this. Melbourne is a place that must be seen and experienced for anyone that visits.

Australia Ayers Rock

Besides forest and mountains Australia also boast a dessert and in the middle of the dessert is Ayers Rock. This Rock is a sight to behold as it stands there three hundred and forty eight feet above the ground, with a circumference of nine kilometers. This is the world's largest monoliths and is made of sandstone. One of the unique things about the rock is that it changes shades of color during the day, which ranges from a deep brown to deep red. If you want to see Ayers Rock at its finest visit it at sunrise or sunset it will boggle your mind with its beauty. Ayers Rock is one of Australia's trademarks and an unforgettable site.
