Cookware: Choosing the best pots and pans

When you are trying to decide which type of cookware to purchase, you have to keep a few factors in mind. Those factors include budget, how much cooking you plan on doing, what you are going to be cooking, and how much you are going to be cooking or the quantity you will be producing. Once you've determined the answers to those questions, you'll be able to zero in on what type of cookware will best suit your needs. There are a number of different types of cookware that are designed for many different types of cooking. This article will discuss a few of those types of cookware on a high level to give you an idea of what you might need. Those types of cookware include aluminum, lined copper, non-stick, and stainless steel cookware.

Aluminum cookware is one of the least expensive types of cookware and can be purchased just about anywhere that kitchen products are sold. Aluminum cookware is one of the lighter of the types and works very well for sauting and for frying foods because it responds very well to the heat and is a great heat conductor.

Lined copper cookware is one of the more expensive types of cookware because of the fact that it is lined with copper and because of its ability to respond to heat very well which is very important when trying to cook food to the best possible level. It heats up fairly quickly and also cools down fairly quickly so you have a lot of control over the temperature of the cookware and the food being cooked in the cookware. Lined copper cookware is usually coated with tin, silver, or stainless steel in order to protect the food being cooked. The copper usually changes color very easily so it may need to be polished quite often.

Non-stick cookware is one of the easier types of cookware to work with because it has a coating that prevents the food from sticking which makes it very easy to clean. The non-stick cookware is great for cooking food items that tend to stick to the pan because the surface prevents these foods from sticking. This is most beneficial when cooking foods like rice or eggs, which tend to stick quite easily. One downside to this type of cookware is that it doesn't transfer heat as well to the food being cooked because of the non-stick coating that is applied.

Stainless steel cookware is one of the more popular types of cookware and is pretty reasonably priced. The benefit of the stainless steel pan is that it is very durable and does not dent or lose color very easily. It tends to stay polished and shiny with ease. The downside to stainless steel cookware is that it does not conduct heat as well so it is important to know that if you are going to buy stainless steel cookware, you make sure it has a copper liner which helps conduct heat.

Now that you know a little bit about the different types of cookware you'll be able to make an educated decision on which type is best for you. In order to do so you'll really need to consider all of the factors like budget, quantity, and type. After you've analyzed all the factors, you'll know which of the types mentioned above is a perfect match for your kitchen.
