Creative inspiration: Where do our ideas come from?

To get creative is different to each of us. Some like to get creative with words, others with arts and crafts. Being creative is to accept that there is another possibility to the way we normally do things.

Therefore being creative is to do something abnormal to you, at least this is my definition.

To spark creativity one must seek other ways to do things, for example if you go to work using route A then try to choose another route and enjoy the scenery, find something in this route that may spark your creativity. For me, music sparks my creativity in writing new poems that reflects the happiness or misery in a certain song. Music also lets me find a good subject to write about. Discover music, listen to different genres or to be even more creative, listen to music from around the world.

Start a creative project with your kids, give them some glue, scissors, colored paper and crayons and see what they can create. Kids are more creative than us , because they do not have defined boundaries as we do, creativity comes naturally to them.

Be creative with gifts, why buy a pricey gift when you could make a music C.D that you recipient would appreciate a lot. Why not send your loved ones poems that you have written, or art that you have made. In my own opining I think that these gifts are much more appreciated because they reflect how much you care.

Ideas are generated when we do something new to us, something that we do not consider as routine.

Meditate, still your mind and focus on your breath. Meditation is said to nourish the soul and rest the mind from our daily mind fatigue. Do yoga it relives stress thus making more energy space you could use to be more creative.

Search for photos on-line, and try to write something about that photo. If it was about nature, then write about what you might smell in there, or what you might feel, is the weather cold? Or is it hot? Try to use your five senses. This little exercise will make you think in a creative way and open new possibilities for your mind.

We are the only ones who are stopping our selves from becoming creative. As they say new products always came from a mind that saw a possibility in a way that is new to us. Put you creative cap on and start thinking with an open mind that seeks to be creative by accepting that there are many other new ways of doing things.
