The time for repeating an article's title, especially on a frequent basis throughout the piece, is when one takes on a search engine optimized, or SEO, assignment. This helps those who search the Web for answers to their questions find the information more quickly and easily. Since Helium does not market itself as a place specifically for SEO type articles, the writer does not need to repeat the article title at the beginning of a piece.

If, however, a title needs some explanation, the introductory paragraph should provide this. The best way is to put the title or part of it that needs the explanation in an organically written sentence that flows well. It shows an ignorance for the basic rules of writing in English to simply place an ill-defined or otherwise choppy phrase in the middle of a paragraph. This also shows a lack of courtesy and respect for readers and fellow writers on Helium by making the article more difficult to follow. Explanations especially work better when they are embedded in regular sentences following basic syntax and grammatical rules.

Sometimes, it does help to repeat an article's title once or twice later in the process of writing it. This helps a writer remind himself or herself what the subject matter is and stay on task. A good way of doing this is right in a sentence containing either the key phrase or restating it in the author's own words. Paraphrasing as in English class will help the author focus his or her thoughts by making him or her reword the original text and be sure he or she understands the topic. Greater understanding expressed in these ways ultimately helps the author write a better article by expounding upon the topic, and better written articles gain better ratings and therefore earnings on Helium.

In the shorter articles on Helium, one need not rewrite the article title in the introduction or the conclusion of the article. Once a reader sees it at the top of the rating page or where it is found in the process of researching a topic, that is generally enough of an indication as to what he or she will read about. However, in longer and more involved or technical articles, for example, those Marketplace items asking for 1,000 or more words, repeating the title in a sentence where it will fit into the flow of each of these parts of the article plus once or twice in its body, will help the reader and rater focus.

Thus, one can see that although there is a time and place for repeating or rewriting the article title in the introduction, Helium is not generally that place. Articles on a site such as Helium tend to be too short to need this except in rare instances. For that reason, readers and raters alike appreciate using the title itself at the top of the page to discern the topic about which they read.
