Both Victoria Stilwell and Cesar Millan are exceptionally good at training and understanding dogs. It is very difficult to choose one over the other because they are both dedicated, caring, compassionate and in tune with dogs. The reason I decided to choose Victoria is because she can be more assertive with the dog. Cesar is fantastic and very watchable. He has a lovely personality, is friendly, responsive to the dog's needs and feelings, but he does have a tendency to let them do things slowly. Victoria is more to the point, she sees what needs to be done and does it straight away.

If you were ever lucky enough to have one of those dog trainers help you with your dog, you would be a very happy person. I doubt you would care too much which of the two it was. When Cesar's television programmes are being recorded they get thousands of people asking him to go to their home to rehabilitate and train their dog. Many never get a chance to meet him at all as he is simply far too busy. I am sure that if you went to his centre you would be dealing with his staff and not him. Cesar's life is dogs. He has lots of dogs. He bonds with them and becomes brothers with them. Whereas Victoria is more about teaching the dog to be obedient. Cesar wants to befriend the dog, Victoria leads the way and tells them to follow.

This is a difficult question because both trainers have good and bad points. You could toss a coin and not go wrong. But if I were lucky enough to have the choice it would be Victoria because she gets results quickly. Without pussy footing around first. She is also very inventive in her methods when needed rather than simply following common sense or text book nonsense. She can be quite adventurous and think outside the box.

This is a question none of us will ever need a true answer to. We will never be in the enviable position of having one of these people there to help us, let alone both of us. This i just a pipe dream, but I took the question seriously. I would be grateful if either bothered, but Victoria would be my first choice. For someone of her age she is remarkable, and that is a fact.
