Staying in shape while spending your vacation at an all inclusive resort can be tricky. Nevertheless, it is possible, and if you are intent on staying healthy and fit, of course, without denying yourself that just one ice cream cone from the machine, you can!
The first, and most important aspect you must focus on actually goes beyond food completely. Question what nourishment is to you. What else nourishes you, besides food? Though all-inclusive resorts are not the same as living at home, going to work (or working from a diversity of locations), and spending your days with friends, children, and doing activities in all different places, you will carry the same essential patterns within yourself to wherever you go. So if you have a habit of eating chips or cake when you know it would be more fitting to write in your journal, talk with a friend over the phone, or dance your heart out on the basement floor, chances are you may gravitate towards the very convenient buffet when that urge for some sort of nourishment presents itself. All-inclusive resorts provide lots of entertainment and there are many activities to engage in. Find options which excite you and give you a sense of deeper satisfaction. You'll be less likely to go for the buffet or the ice cream machine, and may not even have to worry about staying fit.
If you can establish a primary focus for your trip on the aspects which will fill you on deeper levels, you'll be less likely to fill up so much on food. However, a little bit of loving attention to what kind of food is available, and what the best choices to make are, can do a lot of good. No one diet is best for everybody. There are many theories and philosophies about what is good to eat, what is bad to eat, what will turn you into a lobster clawed demon on Main street if you eat it. If your intention, while eating at the resort, is to be healthy and slim, there are some particular foods which can assist you. For example, choosing to eat primarily the fruits and vegetables, anding eat plant based proteins such as beans, sprouts, nuts and seeds can assist with losing weight, as it has helped many. Chances are, these kinds of protein foods may be rare to find. Not a problem, you can always supplement by visiting a local health food store and stocking up on nuts and seeds to sprinkle on your lunch salad or breakfast oatmeal. See if there is any organic or naturally grown food available as well. Another key to not gaining weight is to refrain from overeating.
