One of the best online resources for kids is known as PBSKids. This site features Arthur, and a lot of fun looking activities. There is the tree house with little games to play in it, a friends page, more games pages, and items to print. The items to print has little game ideas on it. Your child can visit this site at http://www.pbskids.org
Yahoo! Kids is a good site at
http://kids.yahoo.com. This site has jokes, music, movies, lots of games and fun, ecards, horoscopes, and a study zone. This site also features fun for holiday events. I highly recommend it.
A Girl's World is another great site for girls. They have diaries, penpals, fun fest, hot stuff, and other items. There are also places on the site where girls can submit stories, and read what other girls in the same age groups talk about. You can visit the site at http://www.agirlsworld.com
Kids Think Link is another fun website. They have four different places on the home page that you can click on to explore and learn. Those are the worldlink, culturelink, funlink, and NY Teens. As you click on each link, it brings you to the appropriate pages in that category. So there are many sub-topics on this site. The site address is http://www.kidsthinklink.com
Barbie is a great site for young girls. It has games, videos, garden, closet, bedroom, a virtual world and more. The website is very colorful and fun looking. Your child can log in to the site at http://barbie.everythinggirl.com.
To encourage your child to read more, have them take a look at kidsreads.com. This site features many children's authors, and lots of series books which many children really enjoy a lot. When your child visits this site, they are sure to never run out of reading ideas!
Another fun and games website to visit for kids is funorama.com. This site has a lot of activities on it from mazes, to word searches, and book talk. There are also links to other sites on this website.
For exploring wildlife and animals, another website that is highly recommended is kids.nationalgeographic.com. This site is packed full of information and it has games, videos, stories, activities, and tons of stuff to look at and learn. This is well worth the time for a child!
I hope that these site references will help your child in finding a good resource both for having fun and for learning. Good luck!
