Television, one of the cheapest and quickest source of information with images, just buy it once and use it forever. Although there are lots of other sources of information like Internet, radio, newspaper, cell phones etc; but television provides quicker information and also lots of entertainment, due to which people spend much time watching TV. Following are some reasons that how people spend much time watching TV.

1. News updates- One of main reasons for spending time on watching TV, from manager of big organization to a security guard of that organization even a barber is news updates. Everyone wants to know what is happening around. News updates on television not only comes after every hour but there can be also breaking news when some thing happens in the state. Analysing news updates on television does not need some special mental capability even an uneducated person can watch and analyze these news update.

2. Sports- Sport is also another source of spending much more time on watching TV. In sports there are lot of games which are broadcast live, such as: Football, one of the most watchable game in the world, Cricket is also next to be watched out more. Other games include hockey, wrestling, badminton, swimming and cycling are also presented live on TV nowadays. From all these games cricket is a full day game while others takes few hours comparatively.

3. Movies- People of all ages like to watch movies for entertainment; young or old, male or female and even children love to watch cartoon movies.

4. Dramas- Mostly family members love to watch dramas.

5. Cooking Shows- Usually females spend their most of time in watching cooking shows on television, but now males are also taking interest to watch such kinds of shows.

6. Talk shows- Many people love to spend their much time watching talk shows, even me like to watch talk shows too.

7. Documentary Movies- Documentary movies are watched by all people even children enjoy watching documentary movies, because documentary movies usually provide interesting information.

8. Debate Competitions- Not only children and younger people spend their time on watching these debate competitions but also their parents spend their much time watching debate competitions on TV.

Moreover, it doesn't need to have any kind of experience or any kind of skills for watching TV; one can watch TV by taking his/her breakfast, lunch even at dinner time. No matter he/she is tired or sick; in any condition TV can also be watched. Some people claim that watching TV is waste of time, but I do not agree with them. It depends upon his/her mentality, either he/she watches TV to get information or just to pass the time and to have some fun, but in all case it's true that time is spent.
