Petals opening gently to greet a day's new morn sun,
oh, to behold, spun yellow gold, just for flower fun.
Rounded center, sure, strong, standing ever so erect,
winking forward to baby posies pausing to reflect.
Found in patches, near and far, plentiful in our sight,
spreads sunshine, hope, joy, peace to our very delight,
wanting not in return, for treasures so much to behold,
nature being its reward, for foliage of such pure bold.
Contain not such blossoms to farmer's Justin's patch,
but to window panes, country lanes, just try to match,
the incredible vibrancy, drawing, drawing us to know,
that sunflowers are like no other, now, ever, to show.

It blooms a while just for you,
That sun-kissed flow’r of golden hue;
It’s radiant warmth on a gloomy day
