Humor: Dogs

by Barbara Garcia

Created on: October 30, 2009

I am now and always have been a lover of dogs. There was a little girl I knew, about 14 years of age. She was a little over 4ft tall and petite. And she truly loved dogs. OK I'll admit it, the little girl was me. Living with my grandmother and grandfather and uncle was great. I also had another uncle who didn't live with us. We will call him uncle hoody. I know it sounds crazy but I really do have a uncle named hoody.

Now uncle hoody had 3 german shepherds named dusty, rusty and lucky. He would bring them over to our house so that I could spend some time playing with them. I truly loved those dogs, and they loved me too. I would constantly ask my uncle to let me have the dogs, and he would always say no. Then finally one day he decided to say yes and left them with me. Before he left he made me promise to take very good care of them, feed them, bathe them, and take them out for walks. He had trained them, and taught me how to train them to. The day I got them was the best day ever.

It was so funny when I would take them out for a walk. I would wrap each one of their chains around my waist and hold them with my hands and off we went. Little did I know that they were really walking me. God forbid if they wanted to chase someone, I would be dragged down the street with them.

Now at night all 3 dogs slept in my room with me. Lucky slept on the floor on the right side of my bed. Dusty slept on the floor at the bottom of the bed. Rusty slept at the foot of my bed. Now understand I have had them for about 6 months now. And even tho my uncle has come to see them from time to time, they have gotten very attached to me. One morning my uncle came over to see us. My door was closed, but when he got to it he knocked on it really hard, opened it and yelled get up out of that bed, in a different voice that did not sound like his. All 3 dogs stood up in attack mode, growled at him, scared him to death. I told them to stay. He had pulled out his knife. Now what was he going to do with that against 3 grown shepherds? When they saw it was him, the began to calm down.

I'm sure he will never try to scare me again.
