my love, be careful with your words,
for I am skittish.
watch what you say
for I am scared.
and may easily run away.
there is nothing I fear more
than love and all it brings.
words cannot express
how
afraid
I really
am.
"why fear love?"
you will ask.
and I will
never
be able to answer.
"why do you run?"
you will question.
and my response
will be a full sprint
in the opposite direction.
you will never be able to label my reactions.
how do you feel about that?
I don't even know how long I will stay.
the words I wish that I could say
are the ones
entangled
in my lips.
if they were to escape
they'd lock my soul
and take off
with the key.

Poetry: My fear
by Maffew James
I don't know how to tell you this
So maybe I'll just run
I don't know how to look at you
Your eyes bring me undone
It's like
I stare down at the evidence
Of something so dependable
After all this time, planning
Reading with my eyes, scanning
Now
Fear lurks within me,
Deep inside my mind.
Cluttered in a dark room,
Bitter and unkind.
Waiting and begging to be free,

I fear that I am not good enough.
I fear that by not letting people get to know the inner me, they think that the surface
Fear
I often sit looking out my window
A bleak look upon my face
The world outside my window
Nothing more than a disguise
